Position: Senior Scientist

About Me: Natalia graduated magna cum laude (gold medal) from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia. She completed her PhD research with Dr. Erika Matunis at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD and defended her thesis at the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. She then moved to Philadelphia, PA, for her postdoctoral work in Dr. Amita Sehgal’s lab at the University of Pennsylvania. Natalia is a Senior Scientist and became the first member of the Chesi lab when she joined in 2021. Her research focuses on studying the role of the tspan14 gene and its transcriptional regulation by an enhancer located within this gene in late-onset Alzheimer’s disease. In her free time, Natalia likes visiting small historic towns in the Pennsylvania countryside, hiking in local parks, reading books and visiting museums and Art galleries.
