About Me: Stephanie is an applied mathematician and computational biologist interested in analyzing biological systems through mathematical and statistical modeling. She obtained a BFA in theatre and mathematics from New York University and a PhD in mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles. In her doctoral work, she modeled T-cell populations in aging and immune disease. After graduation, she taught mathematical biology classes at UCLA before taking on a postdoctoral position at Temple University, where she modeled the growth rate of the invasive spotted lanternfly. In the Chesi Lab, she is interested in statistical genetics/epigenetics and assembling pipelines for the analysis of experimental data. In her free time, she enjoys making and experiencing art, running, learning new languages, being a cat mom to Vanilla, and following the New York Yankees.
